Globe artichoke (Cynara scolymus):

Supporting evidence: Animal
studies have shown choleretic, hypocholesterolaemic and hypolipidaemic
effects in rats. Hepatoprotective effects have also been documented for
in-vivo studies on rats. (Newall, et al., 1996. p. 36) Cynarin
has been shown to be cholagogue, choleretic, and choliokinetic. Globe
artichoke extract has been found to increase bile flow by "as much as
